Need some help, first boot on new build, no bios screen.

plugged the 8pin power into the board near the cpu?

given the gfx card its 6pin pcie power?

connected the monitor to the gfx card and not the back of the board?

check all connections, make sure all leads plugged in correctly, power connections all turned on.

Cheers stulid your a star ;)

That was it, as soon as i connected the HDMI lead to the graphics card it cured the problem and the bios showed up straight away, ive just loaded windows 7 onto it and that seems to have gone fine.

Why is it you can't connect via VGA or HDMI through the motherboard connections ? It worked straight away as soon as i connected via gthe graphics card.

Not noticed any beeps of any kind on start up, i know i don't have a speaker connected to the front panel connections on the motherboard as my motherboard didn't come with one, thought it may have had an inbuilt one but doesn't seem to have.

you need to set the integrated gfx to ON in the bios. get the intel hd gfx drivers installed as well as the ati drivers.

then install lucid virtu and connect the monitor to the board.

voila.

Seriously??? Why would you want to use the on-board graphics when you just put in a brand spanking dedicated graphics card? if you want to use on-board graphics thats cool man just unplug your card and pop it in the post to me :D

p.s nice build btw

I'm made up to be honest that ive got this far as i'm a total newbie to this and its my first ever build, yeh i need to install all the drivers tomorow, ive just basically loaded windows 7 which seems to have gone fine, tomorow i'll load all the drivers and tidy up all the cables. Really enjoyed doing it to be honest, you get more of a buzz building one yourself than buying one from a company pre built plus you learn a lot as well.
