Got my new build to start working, but now when I boot it up I get the error message at bootup "CPU is unworkable or has been changed. Please recheck - CPU soft menu"

Anyone can offer any help?

(system specs are: Q6600, 2x 2gb Geil ram, 8800gt)

What motherboard do you have? It's most likely that the BIOS is out of date and doesn't have the CPU microcode thing for Q6600. Flash the latest BIOS should solve the problem I think.

Have you tried just going into the BIOS then hitting F10 to save, then see if it works once rebooted.

have an ABIT IP35. Did the jumper thingy and have the CMOS checksum error, guess i gotta go into BIOS and find the auto detect cpu or somert and save settings?

Just going into bios and saving will work.
