I've just moved into a new build and I am trying to figure out what to do about NEt and TV package etc.

I've had a read of some threads on here and it has made me question what to do. In my previous house we had Virgin Cable connected but in this it has to be down a phone line.

I have a BT phone connected in the house.

I will be getting Sky TV but it is the Net I can't decide on.

I've looked at the sticky guide and the thinkbroadband link too and the Sky broadband has a few bad comments. The net will be used mainly for gaming and should be fine with about 8meg packages.

So from Sky thats the Mid package for an extra £5 a month.

Be
Should I really go for something like 'Be Value' at £14 pm?

Incidently, does the Be package have free phone calls 24/7 or am I confused?

Also I heard that BT charge you the £124 again if you change back?

Urgh I'm so confused......please someone give me some advice on this....

Hmmm I also just saw the Talk3 option from Carphone Warehouse which is 8mb net, phone line rental and free calls for £20. Does anyone use this and can comment on the quality?

CPW ?! are you mad ? Be and Sky seem to get ok comments along with the Enta reseller brigade but they're taking a beating atm as the honeymoon period is over and things are slowing down. I'd stick to either Sky or Be tbh.

Yeah I only posted the Talk Talk cos I saw them on the MSE site. I'm leaning towards Sky as samknows states that they are LLU at my exchange and I do plan to get the TV package too.

With the above information, am I guarenteed to get a LLU service from them cos I heard anything else is pap?

Thanks for the info.

I've decided to look at the Sky Max at 16mb.

Even tho the Be is 24mb, it's going to be another £10 pm and an intiial outlay of £75 more. I think I'm just tryinhg to talk myself into a decision I've already made.

If Sky are the only LLU provider on your exchange at the moment then you can't get Be* anyway. :)

There are a number of ISP on the exchange - Sky, Be, Bulldog and Tiscali.

However, I just rang up Sky and ordered the package with Sky MAx. Thanks for the info peeps.

As a side note, I rang up saying I got recommended it from a friend and want the tv, phone, net and he replied 'I presume you calling about the FRee installation and free Sky+ box offer?'

'Um...sure' I replied. I had no idea they were running that, I dunno if its the recommend a friend thing or to do with taking all 3 services but I ain't complaining. :)
