need some help please

ok, got an issue with someones pc, it wont post.

Gigabyte EX58-UD3R mobo, i7 920 cpu. have tried new ram, psu and gfx card, still the same.

Clear the CMOS

1 Stick of memory

EDIT: What is the make and model of that PSU you're testing with?

yeh i left the battery out over the weekend to make sure cmos was completly drained.
running an evolabs psu on it, which i know runs the i7 ok as its what we use to test all the time.
yup tried a brand spanking new stick of ram (which works on other mobos) in every slot at a time and still same issue

im thinking mobo is dead, but they aint cheap, so a bit of a gamble.

Have you fitted it into the case and put the the power switch, power reset,hdd, ect, clips from the case to the mobo and see if that helps.

ooops, sorry. it was in a case when it came in. everything was working fine and then it started doing this. only reason it is out of the case was to eliminate it shorting on the case.

yeh, i just wish i had a spare cpu here to test, that would then lead everything to the mobo. this is the second one they have had fail on them, and to be honest, the way it was fitted and the amount of dust i can see why.

dont have a spare one to test it

luckily its a gigabyte mobo so has a 3 year warrenty, so guess will just have to get them to swap it out.

i remember reading somewhere that gigabyte go from date of manufacture and not purchase date on their 3 year warrenty? and you could work this out from somthing to do with the barcode or something (1st 2 digits month, 2nd 2 digits year). is this right, if so, what numbers am i looking for?
