so old one in my sig, something is dying and im pretty sure its the motherboard but if i need to rebuild i figure jump to ryzen. dont need gpu or drives or windows but the case psu ram cpu and ram i do.

budget im thinking £800

yes keeping the 660gtx im not a huge gamer, can i ask why that PSU over any others?

7 year warranty, proven manufacturer, fully modular cables and a fan that stops spinning at low load/temp.

But if you are keeping a GTX660 then you dont need 750w, 550w would do.

Or if you fancy a GFX upgrade also,

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £801.55
(includes shipping: £14.70)

This spec would also work fine for a GTX660 card.

Stulid's done a soild job - he's covered both bases, quality components and within budget and if you remove the cooler he's come under budget (perhaps put the money towards a better gfx card after selling the 660).

It's then down to your preference of case - which you could choose yourself and ask for feedback.

The only thing I will add is goto the Corsair site about your H80i - read the blurb on this page link and read the list of coolers that are compatible with existing brackets (read quote below - yours isn't listed but...):

Corsair said:
If you have CORSAIR Coolers: H60, H110i (H110i GT), H100i, the cooler is compatible with the existing AMD bracket out of the box. The AMD bracket for these coolers can be ordered here.

- then click on the link that saids 'here' within the quote - or this link. When you go to the next page it has the H80i listed with the others as compatible. Decipher as you will...

That's what I was concerned about - wasn't sure if you had missed the 'i' out accidently.

Stulid's right - you may have a problem - but there may be a work around, i would google your cooler - someone's probably come up with a solution.

I would also drop Corsair an email and ask them directly - odd that they would omit one cooler, but not unheard of

well in the short term the cpu come with a cooler so if the h80 cant be used i can get a functional machine up and running, btw how do i do the little neat build things?

If you mean the basket+list of items then press the bbcode button at the bottom of the basket, just take note that https:// is done twice and one needs to be removed to display correctly.

If you have a single GTX 1080/ti on your wish list as a future upgrade a 750w will give you more head room - especially as you'll probably be overclocking the Ryzen?

A quality 650w PSU such as the Flower would power a 1080/ti but it's better to have a PSU cruising along rather than running near flat out (although i do feel the gfx companies over estimated the PSU requirements due to so many poor quality PSUs out there).

What do you plan gpu wise?

how so? i think 750 for me is overkill as ill never put in a big sli gaiming set up, but 550 felt like it was leaving not a very big amount of head room in case i might maybe want a power hungry gpu one day?

550w will easily run a overclocked CPU and a GTX1080Ti
