need some help spec'ing an urgently needed build

That Bitfenix psu also has the ugliest 24 pin cable known to man :D

:D - those details fly right past me as I tend to build with windowless cases (the pursuit if silence 'can' give you ugly internals) - but, admittedly, it is odd looking.

well its not like you should pick or not pick a psu on how pretty the cables look anyway

Trust me - some people will pick aesthetics over quality/performance when using windowed cases. That's why it's hard to buy a component with out it trying to induce a fit with RGB flashing at you once you switch it on ;)

oh i know some will but i cant say that its a good reason to pick one or not, but when there are soooooooooooooooo many options its a factor

That's what I was concerned about - wasn't sure if you had missed the 'i' out accidently.

Stulid's right - you may have a problem - but there may be a work around, i would google your cooler - someone's probably come up with a solution.

I would also drop Corsair an email and ask them directly - odd that they would omit one cooler, but not unheard of
heard back from corsair

We're sorry to inform you even using the new bracket, the first generation H60, H80 and H100 doesn't support AM4 motherboard unfortunately.

That sucks donkey...

Sell it and start again - if funds are short the Hyper 212 is a classic air cooler for £25.

well as the 1700 comes witha stock cooler im thnking use that for the moment and then pick out something. just irritting it cant all be done in the one now

The stock coolers are a lot better than the ol' days - quite capable and quiet.

You could still play around with a small clock - but the reality is you will have more than enough GHz for years to come at stock...

well its done, though having seperate monitor issues but otherwise everything seems mostly good. Ram wants to run at only 2133 and when i set it te 2933 it wouldnt boot or post sooooo a cmos clear and back to working. cant afford anymoremidweek time t fix it.

Sounds good so far - i'm sure you'll sort the memory issue out when you have more time.

Did you flash to the latest BIOS?
