Need some help, think my card is dead.

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, but I'm a bit desperate. After seeing the performance of the 1080, and the price, I decided to buy a 980ti instead, at 1080p I'm not going to see any gains so I'd rather save £100.

Anyway, I'm having some awful issues with it, blue pixels and vertical blue lines, drivers won't install, causing BSOD.

I'm assuming the card is ****ed, but I'd like some input, when you drop £500 on a card you expect it to work.

Any help is appreciated, thanks!

:EDIT: I've tried re seating it and all that, tried different monitor slots, same issues.

It was an EVGA 770 4GB classified, I uninstalled the drivers prior to installing the new card if that's what you're getting at. :)

I am not sure thats the right moved tho. if you want to play only 1080p then GTX 1070 is coming out and suppose to be same performance as 980ti .

its cheaper , more ram and and more function ( new HB bridge,Fast Sync,Ansel,VR ,Less power )

I'm honestly not concerned, besides I work with 3D, I'll get more benefit from the CUDA cores, either way, that doesn't help me with my issue, thanks for your input either way.

Holy crap I think that may have worked..... I'll be back if it hasn't but the pixels and blue lines are gone, so that's very promising, I'll check back in a few, much love Monty, thanks a bunch!

:EDIT: Nah, didn't work, booted up Witcher 3 and it just BSOD, tons of blue, red and green squares all over the shop, gonna try one more driver wipe, re seat after bios update, if that doesn't do it I'll probably have to send it back, annoying to say the least...

What PSU are you using? And have you made sure you have connected BOTH PCI-E power into the two sockets?

I have a corsiar GS800, my 770 was using the same power as this one is, so I doubt it's that.

And yea, both power cables are plugged in, this isn't my first rodeo. :P

Alright well, it's a buggered card, luckily I ordered from Amazon (I know, blasphemy), so I'll be getting a new card tomorrow and I'll be sending this one back to Amazon, appreciate all the help though guys, hopefully this next one won't be botched.

I would never buy second hand, asking for trouble.

Then again, buying new hasn't worked out this time either, perhaps you're right, either way, I'm getting a replacement tomorrow, so it's not all bad.

Disagree with that!! It's entirely dependant on where you've bought it from. The OcUK MM (Which you won't have access too) is a great source for hardware. I've had a few cards along with loads of other components from the MM with no issues - second hand is just fine :)

The great thing about the MM is you know what you're buying. We're all enthusiasts (most anyway) and when you come to look at high-end hardware, you know its been well looked after. 9/10 the seller is more than happy to assist/transfer the warranty if available.
