Firstly i would like to say my X1900 GT has gone off RMA and im waiting for a replacement from HIS. Its been 5 weeks now i was told it was going to be 4 weeks.

Anyways......As you can see in the images above my problem is in game. Desktop, load ups etc all fine no crazy lines etc. However when i go in game i start to see strange lines come from places which shouldnt be there.

So i did the normal stuff.

1. up date drivers
2. virus scan
3. defrag
4. re install the game
5. system restore
6. rolled back the drivers.
7. Updated motherboard drivers

The problem started when i updated to the 7.1 ATI drivers from 6.10 the 7.1 driver just kept crashing and started to show strange lines. So i rolled back to 6.10........and to my suprsie the same problem was there....... :(

So i thought installed the 6.5 drivers off the CD that came with my card........these drivers probbly servred me the best. And before i installed the new drivers i always cleaned the old traces out before. So 6.5 drivers now in still the same problem. I had reached the last straw and did a format of my PC. Surely this had to work.

Once again i was wrong the same problem was still there. :(

My problem wasnt just in one game it also happend in:

3d mark o6
Counter strike source
Half life 2
DOD
BF2142
BF2

AND

BRIAN LARA Cricket 2005 - now if its happening in this game somethings gotta be wrong ;) :D

So i contacted OCUK for RMA and a week later the card is tested and is faulty. OCUK sent it to HIS and are now waiting for a credit note from HIS so ocuk can send me a card.

Sigh ......... its been 5 weeks just waiting for HIS to credit OCUK. Its a big joke if u ask me since i was told it takes 4 weeks maximum.

OCUK have been great cant fault them but HIS ??????? What are they playing at.

The only bit of kit i changed was the monitor from a 17inch to 19inch however im sure this didnt cause it since it was running fine for 4 months and i have my xbox 360 hooked to it and its fine.

Another rant of mine is the time it takes for HIS give me a replacement or credit ocuk. Ive been without my main computer for 5 weeks now which i need for modeling applications and other programs. Fair enough if you tell me stright how long its ganna take thats fine. But when i called the HIS guy up last week (week 4) he said yea it might take another 2 - 4 weeks on top of what you have waited !!!!!!! i mean that is a big big joke. Its a shame i really loved the HIS cards but there support is rotten ! Its BFG or evga for me now

My specs are
Core 2 duo e6600
1 gig ram
160 gb hard drive
OCZ Modstream 520 watt PSU ( i got this PSU because i knew my card needed a powerful one)

So basicly i just want to know what might be the problem ??? ive come to 2 things

1. The card just gave up
2. The fan died causeing these lines

by the way the temps of my card where:

40 idle
high 60s under load

that seems abit high because when i first got my card they where:

low 30s idle
high 50s under load.

Anyways thanks to any 1 that replys.

Those temps were fine, high 60's underload for the x1950 is pretty good actually, normals around 70+, id say it looks like either the memory or the core went, id definately say it was the card though as it was a HIS, HIS cards are well known for being borked, just do a search theres thousands of em on here, and 4x weeks was a load of guff, dont be suprised if your still waiting after 8, mate of mine waited over 8 weeks for a replacement from HIS, so you have a long way to go yet. :(

its a X1900 GT by the way........ ;)

and yes i agree HIS are a poor brand ........ i should have done abit more research when i got my card. However i saw the price and heard some good stuff about HIS and the X800 series so it sounded all good. And the cooling on them cards isnt half bad.....just goes to show how wrong i was :(.

And 8 weeks.........thats just stupidly long i might get in touch with tradeing standards but i dont think they can do much *sigh* :(
