need some help, windows media player only working through rear speaker??

right okay, for past 5 years everythings been fine and dandy, iv got medusa 5.1 headset and a x-fi sound blaster fatality fps sound card, every 5.1 option in windows is enabled, even youtube videos still work all channels etc..

but for some reason windows media players decided to play only through rear audio when iv fired up my pc tonight?? iv restarted a few times, taken sound card out give it a air dust etc.. and no idea what to do now :/ any ideas??

edit, just checked, tried itunes, and its firing all the audio just at rear speakers, not front or centure or sub, just rear, though youtube and the speaker test things use them all? :S
 
Right edit again, managed to narrow it down, windows for some reasons only playing audio through both rear speakers, when i choose 2.1 audio, all is well, 5.1 audio it doesnt work all speakers, unless i test speakers then all channels work, and on youtube all channels work, and games etc its like my front and side and subs are missing?? what the flying christ is going on :/
