Motherboard = Gigabyte MA790XT-UD4P

Im realitively new to putting computers together so bare with me on this as i realise its probably incredibly dumb question.

I have some cables coming out of my PSU called CPU1-P4 and CPU2-P8

Im not entirely sure if im meant to plug these in or not, i dont have the manual anymore either so not sure what to do.

Below is a picture i've taken, i assume they BOTH have to go into that white 8 pin input just below where it says RCA SPDIF ? or should i only been pluggin in one of them ?

Also the front of my case has a cable which has a HD Audio and AC97 cable attached to it but i cant find anywhere on the motherboard to plug these in.

Will the motherboards output at the back still work if i just dont plug these in ?

Yip that's the aux power connectors and thats where they live.

As far as the audio is concerned yes the output at the back will be just fine. It's purely to add those connectors at the front to the mobo so you can just plug in a pair of headphones at the front of the case for convenience lets say.

Check by the front panel connectors on your mobo (Power Switch, Reset etc). The mobo's output at the back will still work but the connections on the front won't.

Connect the HD audio lead to just behind the rear connectors for the sound.

Its called F_AUDIO

Leave the AC97 dangling.

cheers people, found it... was hiding from me !

one last thing: my rear fans cable won't strecth to the Panel SYS Fan input but there is another spare input called PWR fan next to the ATX input which it can just strecth to (although cable is still resting on the ram) is it ok to use that ?

thanks again, never known a forum where people respond so fast ! impressive

no doubt ill be back in a few minutes when the computer blows up upon turning power on for first time.
