Need some help with cables 2 x vga to 1 x vga

Hi,

Bit confused as to what I need to purchase for setup as below :confused:

Shuttle with onboard graphics VGA
Xbox 360 Output vga

Wanting to connect these two to my Dell 2005fpw is this possible? Need some sort of 2 into1 connector.

Can I run a vga signal through a DVI Cable?

Yeah I think it's possible to get boxes that do this, i had one at work a while ago with two vga inputs, and one connection to my monitor so I could change between pcs whilst using only one monitor. Dunno if it was purchased, or a DIY job, I can have a look if you want, but it won't be till monday. I'd imagine that someone sells them somewhere though.

This is what your looking for (i think,but i have never tested one with an xbox 360)
Two VGA in/One vga out with switch on top to change between the two VGA inputs.

If you buy one,,Make sure it has a switch on it..Some are only controlled by software or pressing special keys on the keyboard.

It's called a KMH switch.

What I used at work has the title "data transfer switch" on it, and it's made by Hills Components.

If you google, you can find one for £10, can't link as i think they're classed as a competitor. (If you can't find it, I can email you the link if you want)

You connect your pc to A, xbox to B, and the moitor to I/O, and use the switch to change between the two.

Looks similar to what chaparral posted but without the power supply. You can probabaly tell i used one monitor for two compuers (a dos box and a windows one) but if the xbox uses a vga connector then it should be fine
