Hi all,

I recieved my cable for the M-Audio Audiophile 192 soundcard. I had it up and running earlier and it was sounding great. I turned it off and I have come back and it doesn't seem to be working.
I have checked all the connections and it seems fine.

When I asked one of my friends the other day about which cable to buy, he said when I do get it up and running I need to set my soundcard to "Pre-amp" in the options, otherwise all kind of strange things still start to happen.

Any idea's what he meant?
Does anyone know why It's stopped working?

In the "Monitor Mixer" in the M-Audio control panel the "WavOut S/PIDIF" was working earlier, but now nothing seems to be happening.

Any help would be appreciated.

Hmm, It seems to be working now for some reason. I only turned it off and on, I already tried that twice.

I will keep an eye on it.

I still don't know why my friend said make sure it is set to 'pre-amp' ??

He might mean the 'variable signal levels' setting in the 'Hardware settings' tab of the Delta drivers (I'm assuming the 192 uses these drivers).

I have mine set to +4dBu. All the settings should produce some sound - just at different levels.

I'm not sure why the sound dropped out for you. Try disabling onboard sound if you have that. Hope it's working for you now :)
