Hi there,

Yesterday I restored my phone because I wanted to try jailbreaking it. After playing around with it for me there is no need to have it jailbroken (I was bored!).

I have since just restored it using the normal firmware but I dont have any of my contacts, apps, messages etc.

Now the big question is I done all this using my iMac and normally I use my pc to do all my firmware updates, syncing etc. The only reason I used my iMac is because I am waiting for my replacement psu for my pc so until that arrives it's out of use.

From what I can tell if I have been using my pc to do all my updates/syncing it backs up my apps/contacts and settings?

If someone can confirm this I'd really appreciate it!

:)

If you didn't do a full sync with your phone on your iMac before you jailbroke/restored when it still had all your contacts/music/apps on then these won't have been backed up to it.

You should be able to just check in iTunes to see if it has any of your apps/music otherwise you'll need to connect it to the PC if this is the what you've last synced it with as it will have stored all of your data.

I think (and hoping) that when I am able to get my pc up and running when I sync with that it should restore all my apps and settings as I have only ever used my pc with it (apart from yesterday with the iMac). So fingers crossed that will solve my problems. I just needed a bit of reasurance thats all!

It may complain that it is synced to another library and will want to delete anything put on it since. Might as well use it for now then when your pc is back up again restore again and then restore from backup. :)
