Ok well my pc is refusing to start at all. I get no post but I do get power to the PC.

I think it maybe the motherboard (Asus P5N-E SLI) but the place I bought it for thinks it maybe the ram (Cruicial Ballistix)

Here are the tests I have done to date:

Just CPU + Mobo = 1 long beep followed by 2 short beeps
Both Memory sticks tested in all 4 slots = continous beep
Both pairs of sticks at the same time in yellow slot = Continouse beep
Both pairs of sticks at the same time in black slot = No beep
CPU+1 Mem Sick + GPU = Continous beep\

So that to me seems to indicate that the yellow slots on the mobo are broken? But I have tried starting the pc with the memory in the black slots and still it wonn't post??

I am thus completely confused wheather the mobo or the ram is defective, is there any other things I can do to test this? Oh and I don't have any spare parts to test with.

Well I have had this system running for around a year with no problems. Then it suddenly had issues posting when I powered it up. But if I switched it off it would boot fine but would have lost the Overclock settings in BIOS, but if I loaded the settings again it worked fine. Then one day it refused to post at all. So when I start the pc all I have is a blank screen. And unfortunetly I do not have any other DDR2 ram to test with.

And from those codes it could also be the Monitor or GPU? As it says:

1 long 2 short: Monitor or display card error

EDIT: I can actually test the graphics card though so will try and do that tonight.

Which is what I get when only the CPU and Mobo are connected?

Well I have installed it and unistalled the ram several times so can't think what else I can do. I can't change any of the BIOS settings as I get a black screen, no boot sequance at all, thus my idea it might be the GPU. Its not a problem to test the gpu as my brother has a ATI 1900 GPU I can plug in. At least that definetly rules it out. Only problem if it is the GPU is I have taken the heatsink/fan off to watercooling sigh.
