Hey guys, I need some help with overclocking my memory.

I have corsair dominator 8 GB of memory(4x2GB).

This are the specifications:
Memory Configuration: Dual Channel
Memory Type: DDR3 SDRAM
Performance Profile: XMP
Heat Spreader: Black DHX+
SPD Voltage: 1.5v
Tested Voltage: 1.65v
Speed Rating: PC3-12800 (1600MHz)
SPD Speed: 1333Mhz
Tested Speed: 1600Mhz
SPD Latency: 9-9-9-24
Tested Latency: 7-8-7-20

I am currencly using the xmp profile at 1600Mhz, I want to overclock my memory because I have read that my memory is very capable of overclocking way further then 1600Mhz, and why not use it when it's capable of it!

However I don't have a lot of knowledge on overclocking memory or memory in general. I tried to do it on my own with the benchmark guide (link) below but it isn’t working if anyone would be so kind to help me out a little bit or point me in the right direction I would be very grateful.

I read this review and he is using the exact same memory as me only he is only using 4GB of memory(2x2GB) instead of 8GB(4x2GB) like me, he was able to overclock his memory to 2132Mhz!

I am using a i7-2600k cpu on P8P67 Deluxe mobo.

I have overclocked my CPU to 4.7Ghz using offset mode. (I do have knowledge on overclocking a CPU but not on memory)
I do however have 3 saved OC profiles in my bios, 1 is standard 3.5Ghz and 1 is 4.5Ghz to which I can switch quick if needed for overclocking my memory (I want to be able to use my 4.7Ghz overclock and overclock my memory preferably)

The guy who was able to overclock his memory to 2132Mhz in the link had timings of 8 10 9 24 with a DRAM frequency of 1066.9 MHz and his FSB : DRAM Ratio is 1:8 his command Rate is set to 1T while mine is on 2T (I don’t know if this is of relevance I’ve read somewhere that this setting needs to be 2T with my motherboard). You can see this on page 4 of the benchmark link in CPU-Z in the last screenshot (4th screenshot on the page).

So what did I do in my bios.

I put Ai overclock tuner on ‘’Manual’’.
And Memory frequency on ‘’auto’’.
In DRAM Timing control I put in the exact same timings as the guy in the benchmark.
8 10 9 24 and the DRAM Command mode I left at 2T.

However in my CPU-Z the timings are correct but DRAM Frequency is at 666.8 MHz and my FSB : DRAM ratio stays at 1:5 so it didn’t work.

Now notice that in the above screenshot of my bios how I set “Memory frequency on auto’’, but that in yellow ‘’TARGET DRAM Speed : 1333MHz’’ states 1333MHz that is probably why in cpu-z it says 666.8 MHz because when I change ‘’memory frequency to 1600MHz my DRAM Frequency goes up in CPU-Z but not high enough, my computer will start until I set ‘’memory frequency to 2133MHz’’ in my bios then my computer don’t start anymore because of a failed overclock.

I’ve also read somewhere that by increasing your baseclock from 100 to higher that the Target DRAM speed goes higher but when I change my baseclock my CPU overclock automaticly also goes higher then 4700MHz and is skews my whole CPU overclock up so that doesn’t work either.

So my question is how do I get the DRAM Frequency in CPU-Z on 1066.9 and my FSB:DRAM ratio to 1:8 like the guy in the benchmark? So that it is running at 2132MHz like I want.

Maybe my memory isn’t capable of running it at 2132Mhz and he does have a better memory module like CPU overclocking not every chip is the same and can go as high as another, some chips just overclock better. Is this also the case with memory?

If I cannot get it as high as 2132MHz is there someone who could help me and willing to spend the time to getting it as fast as possible with my setup?

Or could explain to me how I would be able to test every timing step by step to get it stable and as fast as possible

Excuse me for making this so long but I wanted to make sure that you knew what I did already and where my problems where to make it easier to understand for you.

We could talk via Skype or something if that would be more convenient I have a laptop here which I could use for Skype and then enter bios etc on my desktop computer or via the forum although I think via the forum is more difficult because explaining things takes a lot more time if you need to type everything.

Thank you.
