Hey folks
I've had my PC for a while now, but I've only just decided that it's time to see how much more juice I can get from the components. My spec is as follows:
Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 G0
Gigabyte P35-DS3P
4GB OCZ PC2-6400C4 Dual Channel Platinum Revision 2 XTC Series DDR2
PowerColor ATI HD 2900 Pro 512MB
Tuniq Tower 120
I used to overclock a long way back, but only bits and bobs, my PC components would always limit what I could do. I was hoping this time would be different after investing in slightly better quality gear (the motherboard isn't fantastic I know, but it's still fairly decent) but it seems I've hit a wall again. I have managed to get my CPU stable at 2.8 GHz (315FSB) but it won't go above 320FSB without my system not booting up. Dual BIOS just resets the timings back to stock and away I go again.
I've altered the vcore from 1.25 right the way up to 1.5 with no change in the way the system reacts to the new FSB. Anyone have any ideas what else I should try to get it over this wall?
Many thanks everyone.
