I've tried installing this a few times in the past and thought i'd have a go again this evening as i noticed there is now a newer version than when i last tried.

The problem is that i keep getting the following error when i run the program after installing during the building of the registry database.

Any ideas what i can do to resolve this or if i'm maybe missing something? Oh and it's for an 8800GTX on Vista 64bit.

Did you ever solve this, as I'm having a similar problem, searched in vain, using rivatuner 206 as recomended but get the same issue - other posts are confusing me!

you can disable things like signed driver requirements using EasyBCD, but doing this and switching off UAC undo the rather lacklustre security improvements made by M$ in Vista and give people another avenue to attack your machine

Totally remove all previous versions of RT.

Reboot with F8 and choose to boot without driver signing.

Install RT and after complete, I would pop a copy of that little zip looking file into the RT Directory.

And then try and run it, above is overkill but I aint ever had issues since he made it with Driver Signing and aint sure why some get issues.

Reboot, KEEP Tapping F8, on new Mobos you will see a new option to pick Boot Device, you choose your HDD make/model and then AGAIN Keep Tapping F8 and as normal you will see a Boot Menu with lots of Options.

dont do any of that, you can get a version of rivatuner with a digitally siugned driver, get it from either guru 3d or techpowerup, when installing it will ask do you wanna update, press yes, this applies the digitally signed driver, therefore you dont need to turn off UAC or anything, you just need to download the right version of rivatuner, the one with the "modded" driver

seems like this is an old thread - download version 206 not 202

WTF, why am I answering a old thread, I though the was one of the FEW who still cant get the past 4 Driver Signed builds to run. lol.

But since TBirdUK is on latest build and still gets issues not unheard of.

maybe when it asks for the update he pressed no, he should reinstall and make sure he presses yes and make sure that it is the proper version with the signed drivers, theres no need to mess with uac

Its got nothing to do with UAC anyway. IF if comes up with the unable to install driver error, its the digital signing checks that are FORCED on 64-bit vista. You disable it as I said above.

Finally figured it - I'm a bit slow tonight and it didnt say in any instructions - put the update file in the same directory you EXTRACT rivatuner, then install from there - it will THEN ask you to update, do that and Bobs your uncle - installed no probs!

Thanks all, they should put an instruction on how to install - would have saved a lot of time.

I never told him to mess with UAC anywhere on this thread, I told him to get rid of Driver Signing to try getting it installed initually then go from there. ;)

206 comes with it fully, so have past 2 builds and the build before them was Repacked to inc it.

uac, digital signing its all the same crap in vista, there should be an option to remove it all completely for us "pro" users
