Nice dress Lynnie :)

Will you be wearing a cardi or a jacket? What colour handbag? If you were wearing a white cardi you could go for white shoes... some nice 'flip flop' style ones would go (like in one of the pics) or else I would go for some 'half pointy' ones.

As long as they are comfortable of course! ;)

I think you could also get away with black with that colour.

Just the thing for the chaperone who want's to be cool ..... HERE

;)

being a little more serious, go with the shiny black square toed variety.

Oh thats priddy Lynnie, very nice! :)

Strappy sandals would look lovely, black or cream/white would work. Make sure they're ultra comfortable though, especially of you're going to be charging around after hormone fuleed teenagers all night! Do your hoovering and stuff in them for a while to really break them in, theres nothing worse than a night ruined by painful shoes.

Edited to add - PARTY FEET! From Boots, theyre fab!

I was thinking black bag or this bag in http://www.bhs.co.uk/wedding/bags_2.htm burgundy

I do like these shoes but I just don't think they would look rigjt with the dress

You could always take the classy look and turn it into something else, white trilby and white shoes, look the bomb! :D

Scouse girls for the win

I have bought the dress below to Chaperone my Year 11's prom night and I will also be wearing it to a wedding later on in July.

The problem is I don't know what shoes to go with it. The dress is burgundy so I can get away with black, but don't know what style.
Ladies or gents any help please?

here is the dress:

Better picks in a different colour

that dress looks really nice :) it needs strappy shoes with a high heel to make it work though. go for the same colour as the dress or black imo

(dont wear the sheepskin cloak, doesnt go with it at all :()

One of the models is wearing pointy shoes in the pictures, so I don't think they would look odd!

I prefer to choose comfort over style though :o but matching colour shoes and handbag is a must in my book!

Or I could stick to the sensible teacher look (not like one of my pupils) and stick to black shoes and nice wrap. ;)

What do you lot think of these? In black

They are nice shoes, my other half picked up some similar shoes in Reveal (I think that is their name... you could try there as well.

I think the open shoe is a good way to go, especially with summer coming up, you will get more use out of them.

Just to clear something up for me, what is a "year 11"?

I like the black sandals. That way you can paint your toes the matching burgundy of your dress and be all colour co-ordinated, with your black bag and burgundy dress.

Also, cream would be lovely too, but you don't want them to get grubby as the wedding is after the party night. Plus of course black is so versatile and you'll probably get loads of wear out of them throughout the year.

I second Party Feet btw, they are ace :D

Edit: Obviously, by toes I mean toenails before anyone starts ;)
