Hi all,
The first issue is to do with my keyboard - the keyboard went bust on my Toshiba Satellite so in desperation I tried to replace it with a different model's keyboard (although also a satellite) which to my surprise worked. However this keyboard is actually too small for my laptop so there is about a 1cm gap at the bottom where part of the underneath of laptop is exposed. Is there likely to be any kind of risk with this?
Now for the second issue.
I have a couple of duff laptops about which have documents on them I want recovered. Someone recently told me about these hard drive adapters that I could use to do it myself, in particular the Bipra USB 2.0 to SATA/IDE Adapter Kit you can get on Amazon for £23 and seems quite simple to use. Would anyone advise this?
It has mostly good reviews but there is the odd one saying it messed up their hard drive. If there is a decent risk of this I'd rather just get a professional a do it rather than risk losing my stuff but I'd think if it is actually a simple job they'd have as much chance as me at messing it up? Unless I guess if they would be using much more sophisticated equipment...
Thanks
Evie
