need some help

A friend of mine has a motorlola rokr - which is basically on its last legs, the keypad (well all the but the end call button) has died

basically, shes received a few text messages which I think are quite important but she cant read them - I was wondering if theres anyway to retrieve them from the phone (ive already told her to remove the sim card incase she recieves any further messages)

I know its a long shot but you never know.
