Im on a overclock from 2200 to 2530. Its prime95 12 hr stable or was when i did it. Today its 26 on my themometre (sp) cpu temps is about 39, mb 33 volts 1.525 ish.

Anyhow. Its been fine for the past half week. But i was playing civ 4 warlords today for er bout a hour or hour and a half. And i got a freeze like i did last time when i had a 8 hr stable prime but failed in tdu after a min.

In responce to this i was thinking it was the cpu not getting enough volts, so i upped it from 1.525 in bios to 1.530 or 1.535 tho i think i did 1.530. (showing in everest at the mo as 1.518 min, 1.534 medium and 1.550 peak.

My question is this. Does anyone know why my system crashed, as i thought max temp for my cpu was 65c. Its never gone past 50 before. So why does it crash? Is it the volts, is it the temps? Should i change the oc at all? Please help me find the cause and to stop this happening.

Cheers.

Only upped the vcore from 1.4 to current to get 12hr prime stable on monday i think it was. Been ok since cept today when playing civ4, was the same type of freeze with a unstable clock as in high pitch sound and comp unresponcive.

I have upped the vcore a tad (as explained in first post) and seems ok now as just played civ 4 again and finsihed my game, also prime and memtest (windows version) and was fine for a hour on them.

Still im curious as to why it crashed, if a setting is not 100% stable if so what setting is it as ram is at tight timings but under 200 (divider im on). Ram volts at max, 2.8 in bios which is highest it will go.

So in my eyes, the ram has enough volts and is under 200 so its not really overclocked so shouldnt be the ram.

Cpu is oc from 2200 to 2530 (11x230) has been through a 12hr prime stable at 1.525 in bios for vcore. Crashed this morning in civ4, upped the volts by 0.025 i think (whatevr the increasements is) the temps have jumped from 34 idle to 36 idle. 47 max to 50 max.

Not much else i can tell you really.
