hi guys. I'm wondering if you could help me writing a peice for the school magazine. after going on summer camp with the cadets our oc wants us to write about a certain activity we did. The one I was given was watermanship. it needs to be funny but not rude.
If I post a timline of what happened that day could you please help me in writing it?
Started out with the royal engineers interest stand, watched a DVD
Then was given lessons on land mines and detecting them with a prodder and metal detector.
We had a chance to detect money buried under the ground. Liverpudlian’s were as Subtle as a blunt axe in diving for the metal detector.
We then went down to the lake donned our life jackets and was placed into groups. 1 group for powerboating* and one for raft making.
We were all called up individually and given a number and told to join the line of people and when our number was called out we had to jump in the water
of course we were all given the same numbers
we then had a quick lesson on raft building which included a lot of complicated knots and hitting rope with a handle off a sledge hammer.. (liverpulians assigned themselves to this task too)
after the lesson it was a race to see you could build a raft paddle it to the other side of the lake, run round a tree up a bank, get on the raft, paddle it back first and disassemel the raft put everything back first.
we managed all of it first accept the put everything back. someone had left a paddle on the bank
the winning group got to go for a hot shower and the losing one had to just get changed.
as the winning group were running up for the 'showers' we were told there wasn't any and it was just a ploy to get us to work hard
we then got changed and had lunch and off to the next stand which was orienteering
thanks
