Need some help.

Hey guys i brought the Intel Core i3 530 2.93GHz @ 4.00GHz Dual Core DDR3 AVP Edition System and it arrived yesterday but something little is bugging me.

My CPU Core speed is saying 3520MHz and when i go to system it says " 2.93GHz @ 3.52GHz "

I swear at first it was abit higher at first like 4.2GHz and now its dropped, im abit clueless, does the cpu drop to save power or something? im not sure.

Im not sure maybe, how do i disable it?

EDIT - I just went into BIOS and disabled acouple of things that said " cpu blahblah will reduce when idle. " but still the same.

Omg, i know what it was but think ive messed it up now =(

Basically I clicked "Twin Turbo" on Smart Quick Boost ( accidently ) now ive clicked "default" and its gone back to standard 2.93ghz, does that mean i cant get it back to 4.0ghz as i paid for?

Is there not a profile saved in the bios? Most motherboards have this feature nowadays.

I went into the BIOS and clicked "Restore to Optimized settings" or along them lines but didnt do anything :S

The "optimised settings" is not the correct option.

Looks like you have the Gigabyte GA-H55M-UD2H board in your system. With this in mind, go into the BIOS, press F12 (load CMOS from BIOS) and select the correct profile (likely there will be only one). Then save and exit.

Speedstep is good, just leave it on, when your system is under load it goes to 4ghz, you shouldn't be playing with your BIOS if you want to keep your ocuk warrenty valid.

It wasnt speedstep, it was smart boost i clicked on accidently.
