I have a small project for college that i could do with some help.

I need to take an interesting picture of some ice cubes or blocks but on their own they look rather dull and uninteresting so looking for some inspiration.

I thought about taking the shot on a long exposure in the dark and casting some coloured gel lights but wondered if anyone has any further ideas to try at the weekend.

thanks

Make the ice cubes with colour dyes or drink colours

Them exploding, breaking up etc (Like a slowmo freeze frame)

Dropping them into Drinks

Pictures of them partly melted with condensation etc giving the cold yet hot look

Make a house out of them or a famous sculpture/building

Put items or objects inside the ice cubes

If they don't have to be in Block Form:

Make the ice cubes out of different shapes and create some kind of scene

Make bullet Ice Cubes and show them firing from a gun or being loaded into a magazine

Random idea's doubt any of them will help haha

Given the translucency of the cubes, it could be an idea to use a couple of remote flashes + coloured gels firing through or around the cubes, maybe consider it against a wall / white background for some nice reflections.
