Hi does any know what it means on a will when it says ' I revoke all earlier wills and Testamentary dispositions

Doss this mean a previous will was made and has been changed?

means if anyone else pulls one from there bum claiming all the p0rn was actually left to them.... is void. Might not have been one but ya never know what some might try (i guess in the past plenty of dodgy moves were done, hence that is probably a standard will header)

As said above, standard text in a will to ensure any (if any) previous wills are correctly revoked by the current will. Also revoked by marriage etc.

Is there any way to find out ifif one was made eveneven if you know the solicitor that it wasthrough. hrough

which reminds me, must get one made. Pretty crazy thought at 28, who would i like to reward should the worse happen

Not really, unless you have an idea who made it or have evidence of a previous one. An earlier will is more likely to come to light from others contesting the current one.

The clause you stated in your OP is a standard statement for pretty much all wills.

Nope - A will can be written on the back of a pizza box, provided it appoints an executor and is signed by two witnesses at the time it is drafted.

The wording is standard on most solicitor drafted wills, and is simply saying that this is the most up to date document and that all those before it are now invalid.

...Although interestingly, a will does't have to be dated to be legally valid :)

nice, if its not dated and both are presented.... who is to know whats going on then. Open for sneakiness

If it's got to the point that people are arguing over which will is valid, it usually means there is some form of dispute - in which case an application for probate is likely to be the next step.

yes, when a will is put together and a copy left with a solicitor its details are entered into a wills and probate list that is searchable by any solicitor,

there is a fee for this, and must be done if no will was found when the person passed away, before any estate can be settled.

it is also good practice to do this when an old will is found, like in the case of my late mother in law, her will was dated 1974, and because she spoke of a later will, we were advised to do the search.

But then it would be contested that te person making it was not of sound mind at the time of making since who would use a pizza box :D
