Sold a GPU to someone (who not too clued up on PC's) and he is having problem where the gpu fan is spinning up high apparently, jsut at desktop.

Now, I know the card was fine, as I tested before selling on.

I am sure I have read of people having this sort of issue before, but can't remember cause.

He is on windows 7, apparently downloaded latest drivers, and is running on a gigabyte ga-970a-ds3 with fx 6300.

Any ideas?

Edit:
His case is coolermaster haf xm
and the card in question is a powercolor R9 290X PCS+, so not a loud card typically

The only other thing worth mentioning not mentioned already, is that he has corsair psu and 8gb decent memory, and neither of those would have any bearing I don't think.

Not a friend btw
