Hi,

Currently in the middle of building my system, and starting to question some things I've done. Help appreciated:

1. Didn't have enough screws for the standoffs, 3 missing. The mobos secured well, but would it be a risk to proceed without the missing screws.

2. I am a little confused about the EATX12v connector. My mobo manual said to remove the cap and use the 8 pin EATX12v as opposed to the 4 pin ATX12v. Is this ok?

Sorry if that sounds newbish but it's my first build.

system: Q6600, Asus P5K-E, Corsair HX520.

Thanks,

Nick

I just read on a website to use 4 pin for dual core and 8 for quad. As long as it won't ruin anything I'll leave it as 8 pin.

Might have more Q's later, thanks for the speedy reply :)

I didn't know it was either. I mean I've got a Gigabyte P35C_DS3R, and even though that only has a four in 12v cpu connector, it says it supports quads as well. Maybe an 8 pin connector is more stable or somethin?

Yeah that's probably it, it did say OR you can try 8 pin for quads.

Finished now :). And it POSTed first time. Only problem was the activity lights weren't flashing, but I switched them around and they're ok now.

Thanks again for the help.
