I sampled the Solo HD Beats by Dre yesterday and was pleasantly surprised by the sound quality, perhaps the mids/treble wasn't as good as it could've been, but still great never the less.

However, I'm not too keen on the design and would like something a little cheaper. I'd like to spend no more than £100 and would still like the punchy bass but with plenty of mids/treble. Recommendations please? :)

Over budget by 20 quid, - Beyerdynamic DT990 or the DT770 if you want some closed earphones. They have massive bass, but clear mids and treble, the 990's have been known to sound a bit harsh on the treble to some people though.

Goldring DR150's have deep bass, you can hear stuff going on below 30Hz while still having pretty nice mids and treble. They aren't bass heavy however, but a little EQ should sort that if you are a bass head... ;)

Give them a demo if you can. :)

At that price range I'd definitely try and put the little extra to the DT770s - great bass and to my ears seemd to have good definition in mid and upper ranges.

I've heard the Creative Aurvana Live have very good mid and treble, tho the bass is apparently a bit subjective to taste (some love it some hate it) - same internals as the Denon D1001 IIRC.
