The list goes on, they are not all current either!

My fav band at the moment is Mumford and Son's i didnt think they would be my cup of tea as am a big fan of Foo's, greenday and QOTSA bands like that but i really like Mumfords 2 albums Sign no more and Babel
 
Listen to Girl Talk's and E-603's mash up albums. They're awesome in their own right, but they'll also give you the opportunity to hear loads of snippets of bits of music you might not have heard before. I've picked up so many albums as a result of hearing samples of artists I'd never considered before.
 
The band with the most solidly consistent discography I know is Muse, so check out Origin of Symmetry, Absolution or Black Holes and Revelations (whichever one you recognise the singles off really) to see if you could get into them.
