Need some new speakers for my computer

My trusty 2.1 speaker system on my computer, it blew up and died ! servered me well for 7 years! I paid £100 for it and it was good.. Looking to replace this but at around £50. only after a 2.1 setup really as I have a little shuttle system. But I do want a good loud sound as I use my shuttle as my hi-fi

Anyone recommend or tell me what’s what and what to look out for, as I have been out of the game for a few years.

i had this before so i need something as good

80W Total power
20W per satellite (1kHz, 4 ohms)
40W for subwoofer (100Hz, 5 ohms)

Why the halving of the budget this time around? Have a look at the JBL Creatures, or an offering from Altec Lansing. The Creatures might be just outside your budget though.

The Creature II's seem like a good option for your budget. I've messed about with them in Lewis' a few times and the sound from the connected iPod was good. Volume goes quite high for such a small set.

yeah i saw these in dixons today, just not sure if they will be as loud as what i had before

so does anyone reckon these JBL Creature Speakers II will be better than what i had?

Without hearing what you had compared to your setup with a set of creatures, nobody can answer that..

I recently bought a set of creature II's and have to say I was very impressed with the sound quality and volume these tiny speakers can push out. Far far better than I had expected..

Have a look at the Philips MMS430s, I got mine for £40 delivered and they are excellent.
