I'm looking to upgrade my computer's sonic capabilities in the near future but I have a few questions that I'm unsure about:
1. What do I have to consider if I want to include an amp in the system and watch DVDs on my TFT with full Dolby digital surround sound, i.e. do all sound cards allow this?
2. I've heard some people talking about an external DAC - what are these, how much are they, and where can you buy them?
3. What's the difference between computer 5.1 speakers and home cinema 5.1 setups? Are they interchangable i.e. can I use home versions for my PC and vice versa?
4. What are the benefits of an optical connection and do most cards have it?
