Hi all, think im gonna need some more storage to store some hi def content, as its eating at my current disk space. Im looking at as much space i can get, dont really want to spend more than 80 quid. As it will be used for storage (i wouldnt be comfortable installing an OS on such a big drive), i guess speed doesnt really matter. I want something quiet and reliable, and will prob want to get a 1TB drive. Also the less heat produced the better.

Quickly scanning, the western digital caviar green (16MB) look like a good bet. Anybody know how reliable they are?

Also within this price point is the samsung F1; i hear reliability might be an issue, but they seem mighty fast.

So im not sure really what to pick up; i guess a possibility is that this drive might eventually end up in a htpc also. Any ideas lads?

Thanks in advance. If there are any other suggestions please let me know!

Yep definitely after a storage drive. i have read that the WD is only a 5400rpm drive, makes me think if i actually need a 7200rpm F1....hmmmm, decisions decisions!! anybody know what samsung or WD's RMA service is like?
