I've got SH3 and the wireless to my Ring video door bell was rubbish(dropping connection)
So I bought a Netgear mini N300 wi fi extender. It's linked up to the hub great.

Now this is where I have a brain fart.
The Ring doorbell can either connect to the SH3 or the Extender which is nearest to the doorbell.

So which one should I pick?(yes a newbi thing to ask)

Also can someone name me a great wireless router so I can put the Hub in modem mode?
£200 is the most I want to pay for one

thanks

If the extender is nearer the doorbell then get the doorbell to connect to the extender.

Re the new router, why do you want to replace the SH3? If it is just because of wireless performance then save a bit of money, turn off just wireless on the SH if you can and attach some Ubiquiti access points if you can run an Ethernet cable from your SH to the centre of your house where an access point will serve you better. One might be enough.

If you want a new router for advanced routing and networking things the SH3 can't do then what features are you looking for?

Thanks dude. I will get it linked up to the Extender.
I want better wi-fi as I have my Phone\Smartthings hub 2+8 devices\Alexa dot\Hue lights all on wi-fi.
I will look in to them Ubiquiti access points now.
