Need something like a KVM switch

Hey guys,

I can’t think of what the name for this is - I’m looking for a switch that I can hook up my screens, USBs, and maybe audio, and then to either my work laptop or my PC.

Anyone know what this is called? I want to make working from home more convenient and tbh I’d just use my PC if I didn’t need the work VPN.

KVM switch is correct just make sure you get all the correct inputs and outputs you want and max resolutions

Another option is something like Synergy, you can use your laptop next to your desktop with just one keyboard and mouse.

That might be better for me. I didn’t like most of the solutions I found. Does it work well with audio?

Not that I know of. You could always run an aux cable to the line-in on your PC for audio though.

I don’t think I’m going to be able to find the exact thing I need without it costing a fortune so that might have to be the solution. Thanks

Be a lot easier and cheaper than a KVM that's for sure. I've used Synergy for years it's a great program.

Does synergy work just for pc as a KVM you can switch with Xbox , etc.

I would guess not, but I don’t have an Xbox or any consoles so that doesn’t matter to me personally.

I got one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/aw/d/B07MNZ1FVS?psc=1&ref=ppx_pop_mob_b_asin_title earlier this year and its been great. It let's me use my desktop mouse (Glorious Model D) and Keyboard (Corsair K65 rapidfire) with my work MS Surface 3. I also picked up a USB-C to HDMI cable so I can use my Ultrawide monitor too.

Just PC, it's a windows app that needs to be installed on both computers to work.

For Windows only there is also Mouse without borders from Microsoft which is free
