Need Space - GPU from X16 to X8?

Hi all

My graphics card is very chunky and is currently in the top PCIE slot, which is a X16.

It can only move one slot farther down the motherboard because the power supply is mounted on the base of the case.

However, the next PCIE slot down is a X8.

I do quite a bit of gaming and I don't want my graphics card to slow down.

So, if I move it from the X16 to the X8, will it be slower?

If the motherboard you are using is in your sig then the 2nd slot I think should be 16x - as looking at the system specs the board can do dual 16x or 16 x8 x8
