I'm looking for a 2.1 speaker set that has decent sound and small satellites that I can attach to either side of the headboard of my bed for listening to the radio, podcasts, music and the odd video through my tablet. So far I've only found the JBL Creature 3 for £45 and from looking at them, I can loop something through the back of the satellites quite easily. The problem is that I'm used to using decent speakers together with an amp and fear that I'm going to be quite underwhelmed by them.

I don't mind using my old amplifier, a NAD C320BEE, which can sit under the bed as there's plenty of space for ventilation under it but I'm not sure what speakers I could use them with.

The reason I want to attach them to the bed is that one side of the bed is against a wall and on the other side I've got a cupboard and attached to the ends of the headboard is the only way I'll get symmetry.

Budget is up to around £150 but the lower the better. Any ideas?

Aego M3 are awesome.

Thanks :) I'd forgotten about those! The satellites aren't actually that big which is helpful. Don't know how I'm going to get them clamped on the headboard though! It's not a solid headboard; it's wooden with vertical slats of wood.

I know just the thing, creative inspire s2 wireless speakers http://uk.store.creative.com/speakers/inspire-s2-wireless/4-19009.aspx

You're welcome.

Backwards, but thanks :D

I've read some reviews for these after you posted and the reviews don't seem to live up to the 'inspire' name unfortunately!! Bluetooth feature is nice but I already have a Logitech bluetooth adapter which is handling the tablet connection. Dimensions of the satellites are pretty much the same as the Aego M and I'm leaning towards those at the moment. Will have to construct something to mount them though or *******ize the wall mounts that are cheaply available.

I thought the wireless would be handy since youre mounting them on your bed, so you would need the speaker wires to be very long I'm guessing.

Good luck with your search :)

Length of speaker wires won't be much of a problem as the sub will be under the bed or bedside table.

Anyone know if it would be a bad idea placing the Aego M sub on its side, perhaps with some rubber feet underneath for isolation?

will be fine on its side, a couple of tennis or squash balls cut in half are good for isolating
