Hi, need a spec as per the title please.

I don't keep up with the latest tech so I don't know whats what (My pc is a 4770k from years ago) so I need advice.

My mate wants to spend 5-600 quid on a PC to drive two 1080p monitors. He'll just be using it for office work (doing is own business accounts) and no gaming. He has the monitors already.
He doesn't want it to be laggy or anything so I guess a small graphics card would be a good idea?
Other than that I don't know where to start so i'm looking forward to seeing some suggestions.

Cheers

What are the inputs of the monitors? But as a starting point this should give you a reasonable starting point

Memory could be reduced to 8gb but it's probably best to have nore and the case and psu are the most popular ones in stock.

My basket at Overclockers UK:
Total: £514.20 (includes shipping: £12.30)

Im not 100% on this but maybe considering a 3400G to run it that way you have an APU and no need to fork out on a GPU... the only thing youll need to add to eeek's spec is a GPU which will probably take you over £600 unless its second hand

If he s not gonna game and just need to run accounts on it then why not get a laptop.

AMD Ryzen 3000 mobile laptops can be had for around 500 mark now.

2 monitors can be daisy chained and you have full warranty etc.

if you really want to build a PC for office then do the below

- AMD Ryzen 2600 - £130
- Cheapest B450m/B350m board you can find which is a Gigabyte - £45
- Cheap case around £35
- at least bronze non-modular 500w PSU. Go with reputable ones like Corsair etc. PSU you don’t want to skimp - around £60 new
- 16GB DDR4 3000MHz. Cheapest you can find - £60
- Vega graphics (no idea on cost)
- 500GB SSD or NVMe - £70

For that usage, I'd buy on ex-corporate Dell or HP. Something like an HP EliteDesk 800 G2 SFF. The last one I bought had an i5-6500, 8GB RAM and a 250GB SSD, and was under £200.

This is a fairly decent combination, if he really wants a custom built PC @Scotspaul

3200G has onboard graphics. Mobo has 1x HDMI and 1x DisplayPort output. So just ensure the monitors support this, or you'd need cable converters/adapters.

Edit: Didn't realise your thread was from nearly 3 weeks ago, ah well, the thought was there :p
