Need sub out?

Got standard mobo audio on one pc it has just 2 speakers on it. Id like to out a sub on it which i got lying around but dont have sub out on mobo. Is there some way to split the signal from the 3.5mm jack so i can get the sub to work too?
Using headphone jack splitter i believe splits the signal for left and right channel and doesnt provide duplicate output?

This is now sorted. Got a splitter lying around that just gives duplicate signal to 2nd output instead of splitting it to left and right channel. Sub is pounding hard now

Are you filtering out somewhere ? You need sub to play 20hz to where your main speakers roll off. What are you speakers and sub?

If the sub is any good it will have an adjustable crossover built in like this:

If not, then the sub will get full range sound and not sound very good.
