Need Tablet Advice [HELP]

Salutations,
Hope everyone had a great Christmas; today I got the chance to use a Nexus 7 and I've immediately fallen in love with it and well tablets in general. I've been on the fringe about them for the past year and after having a go on one today I've decided to put my Christmas money to good use. Now I'm not too sure which tablet to go for, I definitely want to get a android tablet and preferably not be spending over £90. I'm not up to scratch with tablets and would really appreciate some advice.

What I would like in a tablet:

• 
  Android

• 
  Compete speed wise with a nexus 7 or better

• 
  Not be over £90

• 
  Decent battery life preferably over 3 hours whilst gaming/streaming/browsing.

Finally I've seen this beauty from overclockers website however I'm sure there might be better one's out there.
Current Tablet I'm considering

One last thing, is it better to get a IPS screen or go for size and I would preferably want some feedback from people who have used the tablets they recommend.

The one you linked to is pretty unbeatable for £90 due to the IPS screen but it does not give Nexus 7 performance, you need dual core for that though the Mali 400 is not far behind for games. If you want nexus 7 performance you need to spend more.

I know at the moment they are £150 - £180 do you think they might come down to around £100 by the end of January for the sales?

Or as the other Martini1991 suggested waiting for the OCUK dual core version, do you think that will come in at a competitive price?

You won't see new Nexus 7's at that price.
Maybe you'll be able to find some 8GB Nexus 7's at 100 (But these were pretty much exclusive to the Play store and sold at cost/loss), brand new 16GB's are 160.

Damn, normally I'd jump on the band wagon but I don't think I'll get my money's worth at £160.

So lets say in a few weeks when I end up getting the itch for paying something like £160 for a tablet would it be worth waiting a few months for whatever comes out in 2013 or should I just go for a nexus 7 or something similar. I mean will it be worth me spending the money on a current tablet or will the "next gen" be a lot faster?

I've used a few different Android tablets and can't think of anything new that will directly compete with a Nexus 7 for under £100. That said I have seen used/ex-display tablets for under £100, infact just a few weeks ago I picked up the latest generation Samsung Galaxy tab 7 inch for £90 because it had been returned to a retailer as an unwanted item but had been opened.

What do you want the tablet for specifically?

Do you have anything you could sell to allow you to spend a little extra? Old games, music, mobile phone etc?

I have enough money to spend on a brand new £150 tablet I just don't want to spend that much because I guess I can't justify "getting my moneys worth". I'd use it specifically for web browsing and just generally any fun android apps or games. Right now I'd get a decent use out of it when I'm downstairs I can talk with my friends over the web maybe even some apps like steam; browse the web whilst comfortably watching tv. However when I get back to university in about a week there isn't any real use for it. We don't have a communal area every's just pretty much in their room and I'd probably only take it too one of my lectures for notes, the rest require me to draw diagrams, so unless there's a good note taking app I guess there's no point there. Overall it's really just a gimmick, something to play with whilst I'm bored that's why I wouldn't mind a decent tablet at a good price.
