funnily enough, just watched a video

now I think a switch is what i need

recommend me a switch please ?

scenario --

Router upstairs in my room
My PC is connected via wire
i have another wired cable heading downstairs "outside" into the office downstairs
I also have another PC connected to my router, but this is via the electrical socket via some D-link thing (i didn't buy this)
we also have yet another Dlink thing connected (via electrical socket) in the living room for the SKY / TV

When Netflix is on we get stuttering/buffering

so my idea is to add a switch to the office one and connect the SKY direct to the switch via cable

would this work ?

this sounds like what i would get :

They are called Homeplugs or Power line Adapters and are generally terrible.

Yep that would be ideal

That will work, and is probably better build quality than the other one linked, although any gigabit switch will be fine

now irrelevant , but an update has formed

basically I'm being cut off, as they are going to another provider and they are having it downstairs so they will disconnect mine :(

ill start a new thread as i need to find a provider now

cheers all
