Hi,

I'm upgrading on a careful budget - so looking to keep expense low but not at the expense of a poor system.

So far I have on the way

Mobo: Gigabyte GA-MA790FXT-UD5P
CPU: Phemom II 955BE

I'd like to run this on air at 3.6Hz - not into monster overclocks.

I need some help with the RAM because there is so much I am just overwhelmed - OcUK have 16 different sets within my price range.

I need 4GB (2x2GB) of DDR3, I would hope to spend less than £75

What would you recommend?

Thanks for the help.

Cheers,

Nigel

OCZ Platinum 4GB (2x2GB) DDR3 PC3-10666C7 1333MHz Dual Channel (OCZ3P13334GK) - £65.99 inc VAT

I'm running the same rig as you at the moment (havent built my P55 rig yet) with the above ram.

Thats all you really need in the rig to be honest, I tested two other kits at various timings & speeds & theirs no difference in gaming speeds.

If you just up the cpu-nb vid +.100 in the bios you can run the X4 955BE at 3.4GHz by upping the multi to x17 on stock cpu voltage (around 1.325v) thats a lot better than using a 965BE which uses higher voltage at stock. :)
