Hi all,

I've just bought a super cheap run-around car. Condition is good except a rust hole on the back door. Can anyone recommend a filler to use please?

Not worried about what it looks like or the colour, just want to stop/minimize any water getting in.

Thanks,

sand it down then apply this rust converter stuff. It reacts with the rust and turns it into a non rusty type metal thingy ma jig.

I dont know

Sand down the surrounding area till you see clean metal then apply this to the rusty patch and hole. Then you can filler or fibre glass it and paint over
This stuff

Hmm,

Cut it out then apply rust treatment and use a netting/filler, a treatment without cutting out the damage just won't work ( for long)

Unlikely it'll look decent but will probably still be better than that. New(used) boot might be just as cheap

Easiest option is probably just to buy a rust-free item.

I agree with the above, it will be just as easier in the long run to replace the item.

I would only do that if I was keeping it longterm, if not sand back rust killer and a bung, it wont last of course.
