Need to find a Vegas hotel room!

So, unfortunately I don't have much experience with Vegas.

Me and a couple of friends are going to be passing through in July, and were looking for a pretty interesting room to stay in. There will be four of us in total, and I guess we all have these ideas in our head of crazy Vegas rooms/suites, with swimming pools in them, and tennis courts built in. Although this may not really be what Vegas hotel rooms are like, were hoping we can find the coolest room possible, within a budget. Ultimately, just something fun, if it happens to have a huge hot tub in the room, even better! Budget wise...cheaper the better...however, we could probably go unto about $400 a night.

I know most hotels have suites which normally have the cooler stuff in them, if we can find one of those in budget amazing.

So I thought I would see if anyone knows of any rooms they have stayed at that you can recommend, or if anyone knows of any deals right now?

The crazy themed suites you are talking about are mostly at the Palms. Add an extra zero to the end of your budget per night though.

Mandalay Bay has some larger suites that are reasonably priced- we were going to book one for our wedding after party but decided not to in the end and held our reception at the Encore.

In terms of slick, stunning rooms the nicest I have stayed in is the Mandarin Oriental. Encore is also lush but the MO was just nicer and bigger.

As said though. $400 per night is just going to get you a really really nice room in Vegas. For the crazy rooms like the Hangover (which was a set and doesn't actually exist) you are talking thousands per night.

Get a cheapo (but still reasonable) room in somewhere like hooters and spend the extra cash on other stuff... Luxury is always nice but you dont got to vegas to stay shacked up in your room.

I'd suggest the MGM grand just for the pool, proper party pool when we were there.

Yeah they have Wet Republic there pretty epic sized pool party. The legendary one is Rehab at Hard Rock pool on a Sunday.

Encore have their Beach Club, been open a few years now. They're all cashing in on the 'day club' trend..

In terms of the hotel, I am not personally keen on the MGM. It's just too big a property.

To the OP- Had a little think and good shout is maybe The Platinum (http://www.theplatinumhotel.com/) for four of you. It's a few mins walk from The Strip but for 'bang for the buck' it looks one of the best and is highly recommended by all who stay there- including our resident OcUK Vegas regular Mr Rotty...

Try the MGM skylofts, thouth $400 will be bit tight and a non starter on a weekend

For something bizarre but cheap have a look at the "pornstar" suites at Bills, they aren;t really called that but thats what everyone knows them as

as above, for a big room at bargain prices the Platinum is unbeatable, often you can egt a 1000sq ft with jacuzzi suite for $99 a night

Id recommend the A ria I am currently staying here as I type this...

It's a very nice hotel but the buffet is utterly terrible!

Other restaurants are supposed to be better and I like the casino there.

Get over to Todd English PUB if you can on Tuesday for 5 cent beers! Right next to the Henry Moore sculpture outside the A.ria. Great range of beers and good food.

No Vegas for me this year :(. Have to make do with Monaco instead :o

Back there in summer of 2013 for a few weeks I think...

We just walked in through Crystals or if coming from Mandalay bay end past the mandarin oriental.

Shame about the 5c beers. Was good fun last trip, the mrs is planning our next one now. Going for three weeks, two in Vegas one in LA/ Palm Springs

We normally end up going through the shopping complex, which brings me out opposite the cosmopolitan.

I have found the access from the hotel very good to be honest.

I thought the buffet was brillant, there is just so much choice. However, i missed it this morning as it was a bit of a heavy night.

Go to the Wynn buffet. It's on another level to the a.ria

Cosmo buffet is pretty good too but the Wynn is just phenomenal.

When i stayed in the A.ria i always entered it through the crystals shopping center or if im on the other side through Monte Carlo. I also found the buffet was nice, especially the half lobster and crabs legs.

As mentioned above i would rather stay somewhere cheaper and use the rest of the money on things to do in vegas, it's unlikely you will spend any time in the room out there other than sleeping. The A.ria rooms are cool if you like playing with touchscreen technology to turn off the bathroom lights while someone is on the toilet..
