Have been having internet issues for 2 months now, where my speed flicks between 3 and a half meg down to 246kbps in the space of a few seconds.
Am with Pipex, and am on their up to 8mg connection package.

Its basically been pants for ages now, whenever I try and go on Windows Live messenger to talk to my friends etc during peak times it keeps disconnecting me or not letting me send or receive my messages. It can sign me out up to half a dozen times in the space of 5 minutes. As you can imagine this is really irritating.

Pipex eventually decided to put take me off of the BT platform and put me onto their platform so they could "control my speed better" This was fine for a week but now its doing the same thing again and I am at the end of my tether.

They want me to answer various questions about the type of program I am mainly having issues with (MSN) and one of these questions is what is the IP address for MSN.

Does anyone know what it is, or how would I find out? I need it to send to them and also so I can do a tracert using that IP address.
Can anyone help me?

open a command prompt in windows. type netstat /an to show all active connections. The MSN server is the one listening on port 1863.

e.g.

Proto Local Address Foreign Address State
TCP 192.168.1.108:1720 207.46.111.88:1863 ESTABLISHED
