need to get cd key from battlefield 2 installed on hd

hello all,,,,, ive got a new hd and ive got battlefield 2 installed on my old hd. i need to get the cd key off the old hd because ive lost the book with it on ... is there anyway of getting it from the registry or somthing ????

Yes, you can retrive it. Goto Start > RUN > REGEDIT >

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Electronic Arts/EA Games/Battlefield2/ergc

That will only work if the game is un-patched. One of the first patches introduced an encryption of the CD key so that registry entry will be useless.

If you call EA support and convince them that you have a genuine copy, they'll give you a fresh CD key.
