This is gonna sound dodgy but bear with me lol.

I rent a student house out with 3 other people and we have a supplied thomson DG585 ADSL2+ modem router for our included internet. However, theres 2 massive issues with this router:

1 - our landlord has forgotten the password for its login, so we can't change the SSID or turn uPNP off
2 - the default SSID on this type of router is directly related to the defauly WEP key on it, ours included. Just tried a WEP key cracker on the 4 other default thomson routers in range and I could gain internet access on all of them -.-

My landlord is on holiday until mid january and I can't play games like killing floor and BF3 with uPNP enabled as I suffer constant disconnects to it. Due to the security issue in tow, is it possible to get through the Admin password (which my landlord doesnt even know, told me numerous times before)?

Sigh after reading around it appears its just not possible so I'll have to wait til he comes off holiday and do a manual reset of the router and get the internet connection settings from him -.-

I'd buy a mobile broadband connection if it was actually good for gaming but they are all garbage according to user reviews :(

Only slower games, eve online, maybe starcraft, etc. are really playable on mobile broadband - even if you get the best possible mobile broadband connection the frequent spikes will kill your FPS gaming experience.

If it only supports WEP then no matter the password its going to be crackable in 4 hours tops - probably a lot less in most cases.

Which ISP are you using ??
I do know that O2's Thompson routers use the following :
Username: SuperUser
Password: serial number (found on the bottom of the router)

Sorted it! Landlord gave me a quick phonecall and he knows the internet settings off by heart so I just reset the router and enabled and disabled the things I wanted, plus setup a password and gave him it also.

Now hopefully I can FINALLY enjoy BF3 without getting disconnected constantly!
