I built a website (in muse) and bought a domain name, now I just need to find some web hosting. Tsohost seems to get good reviews so I'll proably go with them.

My question is how do I go about getting my domain name, which I've purchased through another provider working nicely with the host? I've read about having to update nameservers? What does this entail and is it fairly easy for a website newbie like me?

Any advice greatly appreciated.

all you need to do is log in whereever you have registered your domain, and there will be an option to change the nameservers

change them to the hosts namerservers and bobs your uncle

Oh I have another question about this.

How does my email work now? I'd previously been using the email they gave away with the inital domain setup. Now that I've got the host setup though how do I go about transfering them over? Or don't I? Are they seperate? I'm confused..

If the email service is with the same as the domain name, then you can just keep it how it is. Personally, I like to have it all with one provider. I switched from 1and1 to TSOhosts (who are fantastic). I transferred all my services across soon after. Haven't had a problem since.

Thanks for the reply Chanc3.

But does that mean the emails are being stored on my domain names service provider or my hosts provider?? I'm really confused..

You can control email addresses on your domain but you have to use <a records> and all other stuff (PITA). When you use nameservers to route your domain it generally is controlled by the hosting. So your 25 email addresses will be created and managed on your server panel with TSO
