Ive got a 560ti at the minute and all I can seem to do is clone or extend the first screen.

What I need is to have both screens display totally separate video images and if possible to be in total sync.(can do myself by hand if needed)

What can you guys recommend.

Im gonna be buying used because I just cant afford much more after spending most of my cash on a passive 3d kit(£250) and filters and 2 new projectors.(£1250) surround setup(£250)

I dont really wanna spend more the £250. I dont really game very much, maybe now and again. The projectors can only display 1080p.

I see few deals on amd cards at overclockers. Just Read that the HIS 7950 runs cool and quiet??(£269+del)

Is dvi/mdp and hdmi the same or different when it comes to 1080p hd image quality?
 
Tbh i dont think a 7950 will give you any advantage over a 560ti when it comes to the job you want done. What you want may require dedicated hardware between the gfx and the projectors or some sort of software solution. Im sorry i cannot be more specific as i dont know anything about 3d passive setups besides what the gfx will be able to do.

Ah right mate.
I was hoping after reading about amd eye infinity that it would allow me to have 2 separate images projected at same time from the one card, assuming I can run separate instances of VLC at the same time on the one card, guessing the sync issue will have to be a manual affair done by me at beginning of each movie.

There s a demuxer that can demux 3d iso or disc on the fly and split both images to send each one to the projectors, but is $700used exc shipping an the dreaded import/vat and clearance fee's (est 30%)

I'm a little confused about the way your going about this. There is no GPU that will give you totally seperate desktops this is something that would have to be provided at OS/3rd party software level.

Even with that support it won't do what your trying to achieve - extended desktop + video player software that has proper multi-display support and can dictate which display it plays fullscreen on will do that bit but trying to sync them up will be a nightmare by hand.

I don't know a huge amount about passive 3D setups but your whole approach to it seems like your expecting a bit much from the technology and/or what your trying to achieve isn't done in the way your approaching it.

The videos on there website gave the impression I could have separate desktops on different screens.

Guessing buying another 560ti would work then??

If YES, Then does it have to be same make model and gb as the msi 560ti frozer II 2gb Ive got now??
 
Anyone know how to do this from one pc?

Would running 2 cards work and dual boot windows setup to run seperate instances of windows on each card and seperate instances of vlc player??

you can't dual boot windows on a single PC, no

I've just tested and if you choose extend, you can display 2 separate video streams one on each monitor, you just need to load 2 copies of the media player you are using, from a single card, either brand

BRILLIANT!!!!!

Just tested it, and took 2-3 taps on one of the vlc player to get them in perfect sync.
Had a quick go at holding filters infont of lense and did manage to get abit of good depth, but really need to get them perfect as the filter needs to be 90 degree's to the beam coming from the lens.

So,
Next job is to mock up 2 temp adjustable filter holders to sit infront of the top and bottom projector lenses.

Looked good on 124" screen :)

No need to have to go out and buy more expensive GPU's or bd3d demuxer (on the fly) box's.
Now need to learn the art of demuxing bd3d discs :) with a hopefully for me simple demuxer program.

From what I understand, you're trying to do passive 3D with two projectors with the polarising filters in front of each, then wearing the matching glasses. Therefore you want to run VLC on each at a slightly different frame (L/R frames) simultaneously?

That's quite a complicated way of acheiving that in software. A dedicated software solution like iZ3D might be your answer (check the dual output display technology). An alternative (that isn't open source, but is still being developed is DDD.

Have got stereoscopic player already, but havent got a clue if it can send he L+R frames separately to 2 screens/projectors at same time.

Just went to iZ3D Site to DL it and got this :(

Will do once all setup as rightnow the stacked mount setup is a mockup made of wood so looks rubbish, will eventually make one out of 5-10mm alloy sheet and brackets.
So far, walls have been painted, thats it. Needs settee, wardrobes, screen painting onto the wall after its all been sanded down and masked off ready to paint to get a smooth as I can finish. Then the 5.1 surround setup needs fitting and wiring up. ++++++

I've go a pic of 96" screen on the grey wall which looks ok, but not as good as it will be with the correct special paint mix Ive got after a lot of research, which will hold more of the light and not reflect as much back into the room or ceiling and will give much sharper and deeper colours and blacks (contrast)

Note, these images have been changed to 30% size/pixels for quick Download onto photobucket and then here, so the quality shown is only 30% as good as it actually is in real life so to speak.
