Need to make a decision

OK I have undertaken a recent build but have now realised that I maybe stuck with onboard sound if I want to go crossfire.

What is the best upgrade path for the future - keeping crossfire with a couple of 4870's, or buy one big motha card and have decent sound card as well?

I am gonna run some tests with the onboard sound today with me speakers but after some gaming I dont think the onboard is as good as my old XFi

i'd give it a bit of time on the onboard to get used to it and see how it goes from there.

Which isn't wonder because in strict sense normal onboard sound cards aren't any sound cards but just AD/DA converters and what little 3D sound calculations for smaller number of simultaneous channels/sounds there are are done by software.
(limited to EAX2 level and probably even not much of that which is good thing in preventing performance penalty from dramatic CPU load increase)
