Hi

Got an old laptop, no floppy, no cd drive. Managed to take out the hard drive and connect it to USB on my main PC (runs Vista)

My thinking is, I need to make the hard drive bootable, then copy accross the XP Cd contents?

Any advice?

Cheers,

Can't you leave the drive connected by USB, boot from the windows XP disc on the main PC and then install onto the drive. Just copying across the XP cd won't make a viable install.

Failing that make a USB key with the XP on it and install from that onto the laptop.
